There are many reasons why your computer always restarts when launching or playing games, but the main reason for many of these reasons is an overheating processor. This is the most common cause that can cause your computer to keep restarting randomly. To fix the problem of your computer restarting randomly, then you can open your computer and clean the CPU and replace the thermal paste if needed.

Other most likely causes if your computer restarts while opening or playing Games among other PCs not meeting the minimum requirements to run games, power settings, overheating, system failure, bad PSU, cooling, overclocking, wrong BIOS settings, GPU problems, and the Windows installation is broken.

Before you proceed with the solutions below, you should first check if your PC meets all the requirements to run the game. Keep in mind that having minimum requirements doesn't guarantee that you won't have problems. For the best gaming experience, your PC should at least meet the recommended (not minimum) requirements. You can search for any game requirements by doing it on the internet or visiting the game developer/vendor website.

Also, check and install the available bits on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 device and see if the issue is resolved.

Change Power Plan

You can start troubleshooting the computer that keeps restarting while running or playing Games by checking the power settings on your PC. Follow these steps.

Right-click the battery icon in the system tray on the Taskbar and select Power Options. You can also open the Control Panel, then change the View by going to Large/Small icons and selecting Power Options. Or in Windows 10, you can also open it by pressing Win key + I to open Settings, then select System - Power & Sleep and click Additional power settings.

Next in the Power Options window, if the current Power Plan is set as Power saver, then change it to High performance or Balanced.

Next to the plan you have chosen, if you have previously made changes to the settings, click Change plan settings, and on the next page, select Restore default settings to this plan.

After that, close the Control Panel and restart your PC.
